Porcelain Veneers
Preferred by many patients, porcelain veneers can
provide the lasting result of a smile makeover. Many cosmetic
dental problems, such as chipped, gapped, stained, aged or
misaligned teeth can be permanently resolved with porcelain
veneers.
The porcelain veneer process involves an initial visit to
one of our experienced Dentists in order to remove a small
amount of tooth structure from the front surface. The wafer-thin
porcelain is then custom-designed to fit naturally and perfectly
over each individual problem tooth. The resins used to permanently
adhere the porcelain veneers to the teeth can be cured using
the Argon laser, which helps create a stronger bond. Porcelain
veneers are as strong as your own teeth and resist future
discoloration and chipping. They make a dramatic, immediate
difference to your smile and self-esteem.
Our Dentists pride themselves in creating the most natural-looking
porcelain veneer restorations possible. Most dental
offices hire an outside lab to create the porcelain veneers
and crowns. However, some of our dentists have a lab of their
own, and personally help design and handcraft each porcelain
dental art piece. In such offices, any adjustments that need
to be made with the final fit of your porcelain veneers or
crowns can be made immediately without an additional visit.
Some of the multidisciplinary dentists on this site specialize
in crafting delicate, thin porcelain veneers (.3 mm to .5
mm), which result in a more conservative reduction on your
natural tooth structure. Other labs worldwide usually create
veneers of (1 mm to 1.2 mm), which means more of your natural
tooth will need to be removed to fit the thicker veneer. In
the delicate margin of .5 mm, some dentists can masterly craft
a natural looking porcelain veneer using a segmental layering
technique and a palette of over 40 different porcelain powders.
The benefits of porcelain veneers are many and they include
the fact that they are more stable and last longer than regular
bonding and do not require extensive dental preparation or
filing.
